A great week for HEY updates

HEY

This week we rolled out three big improvements to HEY that we think you’re going to love.

Minimize drafts

Sometimes while you’re writing an email you need to reference another email thread. Now you can minimize your draft to the bottom of the screen where it’ll stay docked while you move around in HEY. You can go find what you’re looking for and, when you’re ready to resume writing, just pop it back open to continue where you left off. Here’s how it looks, step-by-step:

1. You're writing an email but can't remember the amount. Hit the minimize button to park the draft while you go find the answer.

2. The draft is now parked at the bottom of the screen so you can quickly get back to it anytime, from anywhere in HEY.

3. Hit the maximize button to open the draft back up and continue writing.

4. The draft opens up where you left off.

View all your Shared Links

With HEY, you can create a shared link to any email thread. It'll show the entire thread and future replies. On an email, just select More > Share this thread.

Now, you can view a list of all your shared links. Hit Account Setup > Shared Links.

Email threads can be shared by hitting More > Share this thread

To see all the threads you’ve shared hit Account Setup > Shared Links

On the Shared Links screen, you can view, copy, or turn off the shared links.

HEY World Bio

One of the most requested features from customers is some way to add more to the top of your HEY World page. A bio, philosophy, or description of the page. Some people have hacked this with posts, but today HEY gets a proper bio field.

Here's how it works. The HEY World screen now has a ••• menu at the top left where you can manage subscribers (import/export), add a bio to your page, or jump right to your HEY World page (this is also new in this release).

There you'll be able to compose your bio with simple rich text formatting: bold and italic text, paragraph breaks, and links. You’ll probably want to keep it short, but it's your page so there are no limits—write as much as you want.

Your bio will be displayed in the masthead at the top of the main HEY World page where all of your posts are listed. We've redesigned the subscription section to fit more harmoniously into the masthead so it feels like one, cohesive unit separate from your posts.

HEY World will also include your bio in every post in the footer at the bottom of the page. It's natural following the post content and makes the ask to subscribe more compelling.

Pin your best HEY World posts

The other big update also comes from customer requests. People want a way to pin some posts to the top of their blog whether it be their greatest hits, most popular posts, or just favorites. Now you can pin any post—and as many posts as you like—and they'll appear right at the top of your HEY World page above the chronological list.

Here's how it looks. David's page below has two pinned posts on top.

To pin a post, just head to HEY World inside HEY and select a post. The Pin/Unpin action is now on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

Pinned posts are grouped in a special section at the top of your HEY World admin page so you can easily manage them.

Available for everyone now

These features are available now on all platforms (support for minimizing your drafts is coming to our mobile apps soon) so give them a try. And if you’re not blogging on HEY World yet you can start today, just send an email world@hey.com to publish it to the web. Lastly, if you’re not subscribed to any HEY World blogs, why not spin the wheel and discover someone new to read!

Thanks again for using HEY!
