We introduced the Admin Pro Pack last year to give companies extra control over access and permissions, like choosing who can send pings, edit project details, and turn on public links. It's especially useful for large accounts with lots of projects or collaborators.

Now, the Admin Pro Pack is even more valuable with the addition of a few highly-requested features. Here's what's new.

Mark someone Out of Office

You know how it goes — someone forgets to flip on Out of Office before leaving on vacation, or they're out unexpectedly and don't have a chance to do it. While you may know they're out, it's more helpful when everyone else does, too, particularly in large organizations.

With the Admin Pro Pack, account owners and admins can update Out of Office settings for anyone in the company. There are two ways to do it.

Click on someone's avatar to show their profile. Choose Set Out of Office, pick the start and end dates, then save.

Or, navigate to Adminland, then Manage People. Use the ••• menu next to the user's name and select Set Out Of Office.

It's not often that you need to mark someone else Out of Office, but when it happens, it's easy to do!

Keep conversations on the record

Basecamp keeps communication organized and on the record.

For most companies, being able to edit comments is important — you can easily fix a typo or update an outdated link. We've heard from others, though, who want to prevent changes and make comments permanent. Maybe the work is sensitive or involves clients. If you need that extra level of security, you're in luck! 

You can now set a 15-minute limit for editing or deleting comments, along with chats and pings, so that everything stays locked in place.

From Adminland, click Change how long comments and chats can be edited under the Admin Pro Pack options. Choose the 15-minute option, then save. 

After 15 minutes, editing and deleting is turned off and a note appears explaining why. Admins and account owners can still edit their own comments and delete comments and chat messages for others.

This improvement keeps all communication on the record.

Archive completed work automatically with Clean Sweep

When you use a Basecamp project for a long time or for complex work, the number of completed tasks can be quite large. While most people don't mind seeing checked off to-dos or multiple cards in the done pile, we know that some folks prefer to tuck those finished items out of sight by archiving them. 

Now there's a way to automatically archive completed items so that your To-Do lists and Card Tables stay tidy. 

In Adminland, navigate to Clean Sweep. Change the setting to archive completed to-dos and cards automatically after 30 days.

With Clean Sweep, you no longer have to archive items one at a time. Basecamp does the work for you!

Finally, we improved an existing Admin Pro Pack feature. You could already limit who can archive and delete projects and other content. Now, that same feature includes moves. Someone moving a folder to a project others don't have access to, for instance, is just as disruptive as archiving it. In Adminland, navigate to Change who can move, archive, and delete content to update the setting.
