New in Basecamp: Everything you need to create a project in one place

A Basecamp project is where it all comes together — one place where the work is tracked, discussed, and delivered. Starting a project, though, has been more scattered than we'd like.

No longer! Before you had to create a project, then go through a separate flow somewhere else to add people, and visit a separate settings screen to switch on/off which tools you want. Now you can take care of those basics 1, 2, 3, right from the start, all on a single, simple page.

First, name the project and add a description and timeline if it has them. You can choose a template, too.

Next, pick the right tools for the work. Maybe it's a straightforward project that only needs To-dos and Campfire. Want to track work through different stages? Switch on the Card Table. Choose what you like. If you're not sure, the defaults work great — you can always change things later.

Finally, add everyone who will be working with you. If you have a small team, you can just pick them from a list. Not ready to invite others yet? Scroll on by and add them when the time is right.

When you're done, you can jump right into the work instead of fiddling with more details.

We hope this simplifies creating projects whether you're getting started with Basecamp (Welcome 👋!) or a seasoned expert.
